Interview with Dirce Toca - Nicole Reyes

The next time you see Dirce Toca, don't be afraid to ask her for a dance.

Dirce Toca, a senior attending Lane Tech, is a young journalist at Columbia Links. I had the chance to get a one on one interview with the aspiring Journalist and got to know the Lane student. Dirce is currently applying to colleges such as Loyola and Northwestern. When asked what she wanted to pursue as a career, she said Journalism was a choice she would like to fulfill. As a soon to be high school graduate, she also has a bittersweet outlook on leaving her school. “I came into high school thinking four years was long, and now that I look back on it I wonder where all the time went. It’s sad yet exciting at the same time. I’m really excited to gain new experiences and go off to college.” This year, she has joined the school lacrosse team. Not only is she an athlete, but the 17 year old can also bust a move. Dirce has also continued her passion for Salsa dancing. "Dancing has been a part of my life ever since I was little," Stated Toca. "I love the feeling of performing in front of a large crowd."
